Let's be absolutey honest: If you're staying here, then you're probably on a motorcycle tour and don't really have any choice in the matter. There really isn't anything else in the area. With that out of the way, the review. My friend and I went for a massage to ease the aches from the ride and the communication barrier made it almost impossible to get anywhere. We got there in the end, but it was a struggle. Overall, my advice would be to avoid this place if you can but you probably can't, if you're in the area.
The most uncomfortable bed ever. Big cockroaches in the bathroom. Only four years old, but looks and feels like 20 years of bad, or no, maintenance. Bar has beer and truly revolting tea even the condensed milk curdled and no drinking water of any kind. Dinner was revolting - how is it possible to fry rice so badly? Where do I start; if you're here to visit the old american army base or just passing through, the chances are you will stay here as there isn't much else to choose from.
The place needs some attention, the ceilings are black with damp. The bed sheets are dirty and the pillows smell really bad. The furniture is old and shabby. It's next to a busy road so can be a bit noisy at times.
On the plus side; there is aircon. Also free wifi, but only in the bar located outside. I had dinner here and the food wasn't half bad. We rode our motorbikes kms over the mountains to reach Khe Sahn soaking wet and exhausted, but yet exhilirated Then it all went downhill from there. The room looked like something out of a 60's sitcom with very dated furniture. The bed was obviously not designed for sleeping - the hardest bed I have ever encountered and arose the next morning with a sore hip from the lack of give in the mattress!
Our travelling companions in other room either didn't have a. There were a vast amount of flies trying to share dinner with us in the restaurant and luckily we had a Vietnamese speaking guide as nobody appeared to speak any English.
