The study gathers information on many topics including health, schools, sports, arts and culture. By taking part in this study, the Welsh Government will be able to produce statistics that will give a better understanding of life across the whole of Wales. The results will be used by the Welsh Government to make decisions that affect everyone. Topics include health, schools, sport, arts and culture. Whatever your circumstances, they are relevant to this study. By taking part, you ensure that your experiences and circumstances become an important part of the bigger picture of life in Wales today and help to shape policies that affect services in Wales.
This section describes the process our study would normally follow. Because of the coronavirus COVID pandemic, we have made some changes to keep you and our colleagues safe. An Office for National Statistics ONS interviewer will contact you to arrange a suitable time to conduct the interview. During the interview one adult member of the household will be selected at random to complete the study. This person will then be asked questions on a range of topics, such as health, wellbeing, education and the Welsh language.
ONS's highly trained interviewers will collect responses through face-to-face interviews and its researchers will compile the results and pass it to the Welsh Government for analysis. The information obtained from the study will be delivered to the Welsh Government.
Its researchers will analyse the results, which will assist in policy- and decision-making, and in directing resources to where they are needed most.
