I have heard that the owner has changed. After a while I tried again. More or less nothing changed, except that the kitchen closes at 10 PM.
At least I have had longer kuchen hours in my memory. May Schnitzel has been large but average Not much has changed at the Dicker Engel since our last visit in other than the fact the food was even better this time around.
Still a relatively small neighborhood pub it has both indoor and outdoor seating. We settled on some German classics We looked at many restaurants along the street and the menu here offered a good variety of German specialties very reasonably priced.
They had a whole page devoted to mushroom preparations, and the schnitzel portion was so large it covered the mushrooms underneath. We started With a cozy environment, very friendly staff and amazing food, this place is definetely recommended! Me and my friends went two times and had a great time!
Thy offer wide range of Schnitzel all made from pork. It seems that they are famous for this dishes. The variety of drinks is good. The service is a little slow but OK. This is a place for traditional, heavy German food in a pub environment. If not everyone in the party are for heavy, meaty food, go somewhere else. For others, Schweinshaxe is highly recommended with a grosse Bier. The schitzels are large and good prepared only pork. As in "the old times" they offer it with lot of different sauces.
