Many have lost sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends to violence.
These women discover hope through workshops and vocational training. We include their beautiful, handmade baby booties from their sewing co-op, Del Taller, in our exhibit. Yesterday we received a very touching message from a Dallas woman who has found a sewing cooperative in Mexico City for us. These women will make the very last baby booties for the exhibit. It is an organization that teaches very low income women crafts to help them make more money to support their families.
I presented to them your organization and showed them your website. They were in tears and were eager to participate. They all live in the poorest neighborhoods of Mexico City and have experienced first hand the violence and pain caused by the kidnapping and permanent disappearance of girls and women.
