If you have any difficulty walking or even if you do not, be very careful as the non beach side footpath where all of the shops are is in shocking condition which is only made worse by you needing to very regularly move on to the road then back to the footpath being blocked by random traders on their mobile businesses or spruikers trying o sell you the latest Indian suits.
It is unfortunate that money is not spent on this area and I do not accept the lame arguement that the Thai government does not have the money. They certainly do but just chose not to invest in their second largest income source only to rice, and that is tourism.
The foot paths are even worse in the evenning and if you chose to move to the other side of the road, you will be harrassed by hookers, the majority of with apparently are Lady Boys and are not subject to health checks like other hookers are in Thailand Gotta laugh.
It is even illegal to sell vibrators in shops and of course, there are no sex shops. Funny place this country. Did not know beach road was a tourist attraction really, it's a road what runs along the beach front full of hotels, bars and shops, you would not really go on the beach and definitely not swim in the sea and at night full of hookers and lady boys what more can be said.

Pattaya sea beach is awesome, specially it is very well developed, peaceful, and with all amenities. Special attraction is the mix of tourists from all over the world male and female Beach road is nice for a sunrise and sunset walk.
